Reading Room's Strategic Team Continues to Grow
As part of Reading Room's innovative approach to build a senior strategic team, Lidia Oshlyansky BA MSc PhD (pending) has been hired as Senior User Experience Analyst. Lidia joins Andy McLane (Creative Director), Darran Snatchfold (Senior Planner), and Adam Cooper (Technical Evangelist) who have been brought in to drive strategic thinking at Reading Room.
Lidia brings knowledge and experience to Reading Room. She is an expert in Human Computer Interaction - looking at how to make systems and products more usable, useful, accessible and enjoyable - and has had six academic papers published on the subject. Lidia also has professional experience in the technology and design fields. She has worked with usability companies and consultancies, including projects in the banking industry such as Barclaycard and UBS. Prior to Reading Room, Lidia was Information Architect at T101 Ltd, and she has also spent time volunteering her technical knowledge at Apitivate, a small charity.
Lidia's focus at Reading Room will be to tie in market research, user intelligence, usability and creativity in order to produce the absolute best sites for clients and users. She will push the user centred design process even further into Reading Room thinking. Project teams will be able to consult Lidia over user centred design - and about existing research in Human Computer Interaction - to inform their decisions and designs. Her role will be both as internal consultant and as client facing expert on user centred design.
Lidia said, "I am very excited to be joining Reading Room. Reading Room's commitment to user centred design and to accessible, usable websites was the biggest attraction for me. It is rare to find an consultancy that understands usability and user experience - and it is even more rare to find one that makes these ideas central to its overall creative and design process."
