Guide Dogs appoint Reading Room

Guide Dogs, the global charity which breeds, trains and provides canine companions, has appointed the digital consultancy Reading Room to design a new look and feel for their Intranet site.

Reading Room will also implement the powerful Percussion Content Management System to allow the Intranet to be updated by the team at Guide Dogs.

After consultation with staff, Guide Dogs identified the need to redevelop the organisations' Intranet and to promote it as a valuable internal communications hub. Guide Dogs are committed to developing a sense of community for employees, providing a stimulating environment for learning, knowledge sharing and development.

Reading Room was chosen to work with Guide Dogs on this project on the unity of our creative, design and technical services. The consultancy sees this as the start of a long lasting relationship with Guide Dogs and are looking forward to working in partnership on this and future phases of development.

Pat Farr, New Media Manager at Guide Dogs
"Using technology to communicate is a key driver in Guide Dogs and we saw a partnership with Reading Room as an effective way forward in delivering effective project solutions".

Margaret Manning CEO of Reading Room
"Intranets often show the highest return on investment of any kind of digital project. They can improve morale and communication, increase efficiency, build a greater sense of corporate culture and community. The Guide Dogs Intranet will provide an extremely effective channel for the distribution and exchange of company information".
Phase one of the site is set to launch in late 2006.
