Reading Room and Dulwich Picture Gallery nominated at this years DADI Awards

16/09/2009 - Manchester

Excitement is rife in Reading Room's offices, following the news that Creative Director Kirstie Buchanan has been nominated for 'The DADI Individual of the Year' and Dulwich Picture Gallery's stunning new online identity has been nominated for a DADI for 'Best Not-for-Profit Website or Campaign'. Kirstie Buchanan's nomination was voted for via an online poll, and this follows Kirstie bagging the title 'Creative Director of the Year' at the last years awards.

Dulwich Picture Gallery - named 'the most beautiful small gallery in the world' - wanted a new, world-class online identity to reflect the energy, ambition and beauty of its collection. With a visual design that reflects the elegance of the gallery, Reading Room created a highly intuitive navigation that creatively showcased what the gallery has to offer. Users can access information and exhibition listings quickly and easily, as well as search for every piece of artwork the gallery houses.

Antonio Coonan, Head of Operations at Dulwich Picture Gallery, was impressed with the result: " We were impressed with the way Reading Room managed to combine excellent technical abilities with a creative vision that matched what we wanted to project - a major London gallery with an innovative vision for the future.

The site has enjoyed an amazing response and the results haven't gone unnoticed, with the site picking up 'Website of the Week' on the 24hour Museum website, as well as bagging the 'Outstanding Achievement' award at the 2008 Interactive Media Awards. With this year's DADIs taking place on Friday, 13 November at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, Reading Room is hoping to add another award to its own unique collection.
