Case studies - Education

London Business School

As part of an organisation-wide re-branding and digital transformation programme, London Business School (LBS) worked with Reading Room to develop a strategic framework for social media engagement. Our primary objectives were to help develop the capability to showcase their world-class thinking and attract students by growing their audience and engaging in dialogue with alumni and the wider business community. Ultimately, their vision is to “have a profound impact on the way the world does business” and a comprehensive social media portal can play a pivotal part in achieving that goal.

Middlesex University

Middlesex University is a growing educational establishment with a global vision, but its website wasn’t doing it justice. After a visual identity workshop and user research, we brought in a new CMS to improve processes and functionality. Now the site is flexible enough to grow (essential when you have campuses as far afield as Mauritius and Dubai). The site has a strong, coherent design and clear messages, underpinned by a simple, intuitive user interface. Users can find what they’re looking for in the wealth of content easily, without being swamped. Middlesex University’s site positions it as an academic centre of excellence and an attractive business proposition.

University of Nottingham

Having grown organically into hundreds of separate websites, the University of Notthingham's online identity had become outdated and inconsistent. Reading Room were appointed to overhaul their online identity with a clean design reflecting the genuinely 'green' and open feel of its campus, and a fluid navigation to meet the needs of the modern audience.

University of Leeds - The Equality Service

The Equality Service wanted a highly accessible website with an easily updatable and extendable CMS on a restricted budget. We undertook usability testing to ensure the site worked with assistive technologies, and the result is a fresh and engaging design which guides users effortlessly to the information they need.

Open University Platform

The Open University's key objective was to take their method of communicating with their student body onto a more digital platform. Reading Room have successfully delivered a strategy which will enable the OU to phase out all in-print communications by creating an interactive social networking site with a stunningly creative design acting as a virtual student union.

Qualifications and Curriculum Authority

Responsible for the development of the National Curriculum, QCA wanted to make the web the principal resource when accessing the curriculum. We created an attractive, powerfully interactive and invaluable online tool through which learners, teachers and employers can gain the skills and knowledge required to permit a high standard of education for all, whilst launching a completely new brand image for the QCA.

The Reading Agency - Team Read

In Olympic year we created a highly interactive Flash site for The Reading Agency's latest summer book reading challenge. Set in an athletics stadium, children can create a character, set up reading records, join & create teams, play games and interact with authors and librarians.

Kaplan International Colleges

We created 14 informational and e-commerce regional sites - in as many different languages – for the leading global provider of language education, Kaplan Aspect. The multi-lingual sites, including Arabic, Japanese, Chinese and every major European language, were rolled out in just 14 weeks.

The Prince's Teaching Institute (PTI)

Reading Room created an online communications strategy and an Internet resource, the Summer School in particular focus.  Key to this challenging and exciting project was creating a resource to function as the primary marketing tool and evolve with the Institute and their future expansion.
