Kirstie Buchanan, sales and marketing director for Reading Room and Rippleffect, has been appointed as the new Chair for the DMA North Council.
A proud advocate of nurturing talent and preparing the next generation of marketers for life in the sector, Kirstie will bring her commercial experience and passion for industry to the role of Chair to drive awareness and engagement with the DMA across the North region.
The DMA runs a number of events in Manchester, such as Copywriting clubs and Legal updates. The DMA Group’s Employability team also runs a range of initiatives to attract and inform the next generation of talent to the industry, in 2017 these will include dedicated events in the North region for the Big Book Crit and Mentoring.
Commenting on her new role, Kirstie said: “I am excited to be appointed Chair of the DMA North Council and look forward to working with the team to increase awareness and engagement across the region. In particular, I’d like to focus our attentions on the next generation of digital and marketing talent, both from the junior ranks of our industry and the students that may not have thought about a career in marketing.
