Information Architecture (IA) is the process of structuring, labelling and categorising complex digital content into something simpler.

The secret behind a good UX.

Information Architecture (IA) is the process of structuring, labelling and categorising complex digital content into something simpler.

A customer should be able to navigate an app or website without thinking twice. Imagine a library with towers of colourful books, categorised by topic, in alphabetical order. Next, picture an online shop with categories of clothes, which you can search by size, colour, and style. This is IA.

For a user-friendly, digital experience, IA is essential. It can be the difference between a customer discovering their all-time favourite pair of socks on your site, versus giving up, leaving, and shopping from a big-name competitor.

Laying your digital foundation.

Before any design and build begins, content structure and navigation are decided. This is the point where we begin to ask questions and leave the rest to the data.

Information Architecture is all about problem-solving. It’s also about creating a solution to a problem that is future-ready. So, the next time your brand launches a new feature, you’ll know exactly where it should live on your site or in-app.

To get here, we’ll undergo rigorous analysis of customer behaviours and trends. Using real consumer data, a framework will be created that best reflects your customers and brand.  A combination of card sorting and tree tests will validate our discoveries, which will be fed into your bespoke IA strategy.

Your strategy will include:

  • Label recommendations for each content category.
  • Guidance for structuring content.
  • Recommendations for content hierarchy.
  • Metadata summary and content model.
  • Taxonomy suggestions for tagging content.
